SIDENOTE: is it friday yet?

• This weekend I started the hunt for my own studio apartment.  With these rent prices, apartments should be looking for me.
• I've seen these Vibram Five Fingers shoes around the gym as of late.  They allow you to feel like you're working out barefoot - but with protective soles that actually help to strengthen your feet.  I hate feet.  They make me want to throw up.  The marketers that named a footwear product using the word fingers should be shot.  However, these little things are intriguing, and likely what I'm getting my dad for his upcoming birthday.
• Summertime in New York City is sweet.  Summertime in the New York City subway system is sweaty.  
• Speaking of which, I'm pretty certain I rode the subway this morning with my taxi driver from last Wednesday night.
• Last week my friend Kerry sent me a 'Just Because' card.  The front reads: "Beauty can be a lonely burden."  The inside reads: "I'm glad I have you to suffer with."  It's these little random acts of kindness that remind me how lucky I am to have good (and pretty) friends.
