SIDENOTE: summertime in the city

  • I seem to have misplaced my TV remote in my bedroom.  It's been stuck on NBC for the past three weeks.
  • Because I can't change the channel, I ended up watching bits of "America's Got Talent" last night.  America isn't talented because Howie Mandel says so.
  • Is it cool that the few movies I have on my "to see" list are animated, 3-D and targeted at five-year-olds?
  • Because of the recent heat wave (100 degrees for the past two days), we received warning from the electric company to shut lights off in the office building to conserve energy and avoid power outages.  Let's start by turning the AC down in here so I can't see my own breath.
  • For my upcoming trip to California I tried to 1) reroute my Bahamas ticket (cost more than to just buy it) 2) use my free JetBlue ticket voucher I won from Twitter (black out dates), and 3) sign up for a JetBlue Amex card to get the free introductory 20,000 air points (have to wait 6 weeks until the points register).  I now have to pay full price ($100 more than when I started looking).
  • I bought Silly Bandz last night (yea, so what?).  I spent 15 minutes in the pharmacy determining if the "farm" bandz best suited my personality.  I finally settled on the "food" - because it's technically a two for one deal.  The hotdog and hamburger bandz double as farm animals.
  • This morning I bought pomegranate seeds and a greek yogurt with honey.  Four dollars and 12 grams of fat later I looked at the container.  I'd have rather had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich.
Happy Hump Day!
